An online referral, also known as an e-referral, is a modern form of the traditional medical referral. It is issued electronically, eliminating the need for a paper document. With this digital innovation, patients can get a referral to a specialist online or for tests without leaving their home. The e-referral system provides convenience, speed and security.
E-referral works on the basis of an electronic medical document management system. During an online consultation, the doctor can issue a referral for tests or to a specialist. The patient receives a unique four-digit e-referral code, which, together with his/her PESEL number, is sufficient to register with any medical facility that supports this system. The online referral is available on the Internet Patient Account (IKP), which further facilitates the management of medical records.

Making an e-referral is simple. All you need to do is contact the medical facility of your choice, provide the four-digit e-referral code and your PESEL number, and then make an appointment at a convenient time.

When will you receive an E-Referral?
If there are no contraindications, you will receive an E-referral within 30 minutes of submitting your request. In some cases, however, the process may take a little longer.How does the payment process work?
